If you want to raise your business’ level of engagement within the communities of Southampton, then come and meet Xan Phillips, Station Manager at Voice FM.

Based in the heart of Southampton, and operating as a not-for-profit community radio station since 2011, Voice FM serves the local community with a diverse range of shows, including various music genres, talk shows, and community-focused content.

With a team of dedicated volunteers and presenters, they provide training and educational opportunities for aspiring broadcasters and give placements to students from Solent, Southampton and Winchester universities.

The station actively encourages community engagement, inviting listeners to interact, make requests, provide feedback, and share their stories and events. You’ll certainly hear the difference to regular radio stations!

Xan has been a radio broadcaster since 2000, he’s also had experience in TV news, as a marketing director, café manager and even folding jumpers in a Benetton.

He joined Voice FM as a volunteer in 2011, became a board member in 2019 and took on the role of station manager in March 2022.

Since taking on this role he’s helped the station become even more community orientated while ensuring that the businesses that advertise on the station have the best exposure possible through commercials and sponsorship opportunities tthat people grow to love.
